Welcome from the Chair of Governors
Welcome to Crawley Green Infant School.
On behalf of the Governing Body, I am delighted to welcome you to our school. We hope our website provides a clear insight into our values, our ethos, and the inclusive environment we create for every child.
At the heart of our school is our CARE ethos: showing curiosity, being articulate, demonstrating resilience, and being engaged in our learning. These values guide everything we do. We encourage our pupils to be curious learners, confident communicators, resilient in the face of challenge, and to be thoroughly engaged in every aspect of their learning journey. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As governors we support a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
We are proud to place Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that every child and family feels respected, valued, and supported, and that diversity is celebrated across our school community.
The Governing Body has three core functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction
- Holding the Headteacher and senior leaders to account for educational performance and wellbeing
- Overseeing the effective and responsible use of public funds
Through these responsibilities, governors provide both support and challenge, helping the school to continuously improve while maintaining high standards.
As governors, we are also committed to strong leadership, transparency, and accountability, in line with the Nolan Principles of public life: Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openness, Honesty, and Leadership. Through these principles we are guided in all our work to ensure all decisions that are made are in the best interests of our children and wider community. Our school is proud of its strong community spirit. We value strong partnerships with parents and carers.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We are proud of our school and our community, and we look forward to working in partnership with you.
Yours sincerely,
Daniel Coppin
